0% of Businesses are Prepared for Cyberattack: Study

In a world where network security has become imperative, it’s surprising to find out that 0% (that’s not a typo) of U.S. companies feel they are meeting their technology security needs with their current business plan. Another way to phrase this is 100% of North American companies are unprepared for a cybersecurity attack. “To be cyber resilient, organizations must increase their understanding rapidly”, according to a recent global survey.

 

Respondents in the survey stated that the solution is simply “more money” to throw at their approach to cybersecurity. However, the funding is not always available, or willing to be allocated to technology risks.

Unfortunately, a significant data breach would change that equation overnight, according to the majority (77%) … but only if the attack caused “enough” damage to the company.
